When are the auditions?

Auditions are Saturday, August 26 or Sunday, August 27. You must choose one day to audition with your team.

What do the dancers wear for auditions?

Black leggings or black long jazz pants with a solid white top.
No crop tops.

How many dancers can audition?

We allow a maximum of 6 dancers per school.

How do I register my dancers to audition?

Coaches are responsible to register all 7 dancers from your school. Complete the registration form found here.

Can we audition on both Saturday or Sunday?

No, we do not allow schools to split their audition day. Please choose either Saturday, or Sunday.

How much do auditions cost?

Auditions will be $27 per dancer.

How can I pay for auditions?

We accept checks, purchase orders, money orders, and credit card.

Credit card transactions include a 3% service fee.

All payments are due prior to your audition. If you do not have your payment by the time of auditions, you may pay via credit card at auditions.

For all late audition payments you will be charged $25 per month.

What do I need to complete the audition?

Come to Berg Middle School on your chosen audition day. Dancers need to wear:

  • Black pants or leggings
  • Plain white top with no writing
  • No crop tops
  • Black Jazz Shoes
  • No Piercings allowed (exception: single lobe studs, no dangle or hoop earrings)

If I am a chaperone, can I drop my dancer off and leave?

No, you are responsible for your dancer in case of illness or injury. All chaperones must be on-site for the duration of the auditions. Once your dancers are finished auditioning, you may go.

When will I find out the results of the audition?

We will email you directly with the results as soon as final selections are made. Typically, coaches are notified in October.

What is the schedule for auditions?

Tentative All-Iowa Audition Schedule:
Registration: 7:15 am – 8:30 am
*Arrive by 8:00 am to allow time for costume sizing
8:30 am – 8:50 am – Announcements
9:00 am – 11:15 am – Teach and review Pom and Kick routine
9:00 am – ISDTA Coaches Meeting
11:15 am – 12:30 pm – Lunch provided Newton Pacesetters (No outside food unless medically necessary)
12:30 pm – 4:00 pm – Auditions (closed)

How much does it cost to be on the team?

We are anticipating an approximate performance registration fee of $165 per dancer this year.

This includes your costume, accessories (poms and earrings) and 1 meal. Costumes and earrings are yours to keep.

This does not include additional optional apparel, jazz pants, additional meals, hotels or photography.
